No ending = retarded. At least they could have done something. Some giant world announcement from one of the evil god's minions telling us we are all doomed, and nightfall is coming. and then initiate a giant death trigger with fire. Easy for them to program, wouldnt take more then 1 hr to do it.

Yea, this is super depressing.. I'm still dancing in D2.
I've been to all the end beta events since the start of GW (missed the first bone dragon one though).. It's always been something I look forward to! I didn't sleep, so I took a 2 hour nap before this "event" end, only to find nothing at all. You broke my heart Ron Burgandy!

I used a free slot on my account for preview & got booted when I tried to enter the main city. Suprisingly, my friend which was in my team managed to get in city, I didn't =/

I reckon what's happening is they are clearing people off server by server.

Any reason given why there wasn't any finale?
PS I'm really glad I didn't skip work today! That would have pissed me off.

I was having so much fun back there dancing away while waiting to die lol
I do feel a bit disappointed that the event ended so abruptly instead of something dramatic that will make people remember about this event.

Maybe the dev team are just more focused on releasing a game to be excited about, rather than 15 fleeting minutes.
Plus Halloween and Christmas are coming up and hopefully they will have special events for them too!
I try not to take things for granted. They don't owe you any more than they already give you and yet they still go above and beyond to keep things interesting.

They are struggling to meet deadline for the retail versions release.

Well that's part of my gripe. They opened this event up to people who have never played Guild Wars before. Now these, let's call them inexpereinced players, probably didn't get to finish the preview because they are still learning how the game works etc.
Event comes to an end and they get booted from the server. Remeber they didn't get to the end of the preview so they didn't get to see the thank you note after the last quest.
It's just very unprofessional on the part of ArenaNet. What makes matters even worse is the fact that the event had to get reset and started 12 hours later than it was supposed to.
All in all I reckon ArenaNet have not done themselves any favours trying to lure in prospective new players.
------------
PS: I still love you ArenaNet.

I find it sad that they've done such a wonderful job in the past being so creative on ending the events and making it something that everyone looked forward to. If they're using the excuse that they are staying that busy, perhaps they are releasing the game too soon?

Aww there was a thankyou note? Didn't see that, I didn't have the energy to play up to lvl 20 over one weekend so just mucked about to get a taste of the game.
Been kicked now, we were playing chicken with the portal and I got too close.

Halloween probably won't happen either because it's release week for Nightfall

After shouting, "Repent! Repent! The end is nigh!" for about ten minutes I decided to switch districts to see if everyone was doing the same thing. Dance parties throughout Kamadan. It's upsetting that we couldn't get another spectacular ending like the first two but I know what it's like to be BUSY! I'll be buying NightFall when it comes out for sure.
It was pretty funny, people were discussing how they would like to see it end. I noticed one that just made me laugh. The guy said "Perhaps two or so people could get some strange disease like the plague and we could play tag until everyone was dead." I don't know what it is about that one but it sure is funny.
Thanks for the continuous effort ANET.

Gaile said there might not be a halloween event.. for the same excuse as the lack of an end event.. But it is just an excuse. It wouldnt be hard to just do the same event as last year but edit the scripts for a new town...Or even do it in Lions Arch again..
